Mary Janes are a classic pair of shoes that can class up any outfit. I got these pair of patent leather heather grey mary jane shoes from Old Navy. Colors come in black, grey, and plum. I paired these with a black rhinestone neck short black dress with black stockings.

Jacket required in Pittsburgh
Saturday, November 22, 2008
I recently went to Pittsburgh for a week for business purposes. I decided to drive the 4-5 hours there and take in the scenic route through Maryland and West Virginia. I was all packed and had my rental car fueled up. As soon as I crossed into Pennsylvania I remembered I forgot something...my JACKET! I was wearing a puffy vest while I was driving, so I wouldn't get all hot and claustrophobic if I wore my pea coat. There was absolutely no turning back. The next morning I wore the only sweater I brought underneath my puffy vest. This had to have been the coldest day in Pittsburgh yet.
While walking to lunch in Squirrel Hill we passed by a vintage store called Avalon Exchange. I thought I'd take a peak at the leather jackets because I don't own one...until now. I picked up this cute Alfani jacket which fits me perfectly.

Carol Grosgrain Hat
Tuesday, August 5, 2008
Check out this cute hat I found at Forever 21! Very classic like it came out of the 1940's. Grosgrain is a closely woven silk or rayon fabric with narrow horizontal ribs. Available at Forever 21 for $10.80.

Favorite little things
Sunday, July 27, 2008
I have been on several vintage adventures, but here are some of my favorite things.
On my adventure with my sister to the warehouse last year, see post OCD comes in handy sometimes, I rummaged through piles of purses and bags to find this little vintage suitcase. Not only would this be nice to be stacked up with other stylish suitcases in the living room, but I also want to travel with this on our trip out to Colorado.
Next, I found this cute pink crocheted dress at my favorite thrift store by my college. I wore this to my college graduation party for only $20! The crochet is nicely done with a matching pink slip underneath. This picture below was taken when I had my cousins over for dinner at our new apartment. Photo complements of Angry Asian Creations.

My finds
Thursday, November 15, 2007
I have a confession to make...I love online shopping! My recent purchases have been from vintage sites. I may be a little late on the nautical theme, but I can always wear this next season. I bought this sweater from Femminastyle. It's a canary yellow lightweight short sleeved sweater with a detail anchor on the front.
Another recent purchase was from LaLaLui Designs. It's a maroon Capezio. I haven't received it yet, but I am looking forward to sporting it around this winter.

OCD comes in handy sometimes
My recent vintage adventures have been from the help of (one) of my partners in crime, my little sister. We recently went to a warehouse sale that consisted of an old woman's hoarding OCD. The rules of this place was whatever you can fit in these plastic bags you get for $10. Whatever we saw we stuffed in our bags. We came out with 2 bags of shirts and purses, a vintage bowling bag along with a bowling ball, and a vintage suitcase...all for $10! Our vintage finds kept us going so we went to Second Hand Rose. We purchased a pearl and gold 4 tier necklace, a cashmere sweater vest, belts, and an over sized dress. What a day! Can't wait for more of those.

Black is the New White
Friday, September 28, 2007
Is everyone you know getting married but you? Are you wearing the same dress every time? Try something different. The faux pas of wearing black at weddings has been broken. Go ahead, its okay to look like a ninja at your friend's wedding. Ninja dancing in your favorite black dress is more fun than you think.
This vintage 1950's black eyelet dress, from Posh Girl Vintage, will wow the guests. But try to remember that the bride is the woman of the night ;)

Have a striped day
Thursday, September 27, 2007
This has been on my wish list for a few months. This cute striped halter dress is one of the classic 1950's look. This dress can be found on Fashion Dig. This site is kind of like Etsy where vintage shops can post their inventory and shoppers can browse by decades and styles.
These cute pair of matching heels are made by Michael Kors. Don't pair the dress and shoes together or that would result in a pattern overkill. Shoes are available through Pink Mascara.
