I recently went to Pittsburgh for a week for business purposes. I decided to drive the 4-5 hours there and take in the scenic route through Maryland and West Virginia. I was all packed and had my rental car fueled up. As soon as I crossed into Pennsylvania I remembered I forgot something...my JACKET! I was wearing a puffy vest while I was driving, so I wouldn't get all hot and claustrophobic if I wore my pea coat. There was absolutely no turning back. The next morning I wore the only sweater I brought underneath my puffy vest. This had to have been the coldest day in Pittsburgh yet.
While walking to lunch in Squirrel Hill we passed by a vintage store called Avalon Exchange. I thought I'd take a peak at the leather jackets because I don't own one...until now. I picked up this cute Alfani jacket which fits me perfectly.
Vintage finds that will amuse your pallete.

Carol Grosgrain Hat

Check out this cute hat I found at Forever 21! Very classic like it came out of the 1940's. Grosgrain is a closely woven silk or rayon fabric with narrow horizontal ribs. Available at Forever 21 for $10.80.

Favorite little things
Sunday, July 27, 2008
I have been on several vintage adventures, but here are some of my favorite things.
On my adventure with my sister to the warehouse last year, see post OCD comes in handy sometimes, I rummaged through piles of purses and bags to find this little vintage suitcase.
Not only would this be nice to be stacked up with other stylish suitcases in the living room, but I also want to travel with this on our trip out to Colorado.
Next, I found this cute pink crocheted dress at my favorite thrift store by my college. I wore this to my college graduation party for only $20! The crochet is nicely done with a matching pink slip underneath. This picture below was taken when I had my cousins over for dinner at our new apartment. Photo complements of Angry Asian Creations.
